The first attempt at motion was a stepped animation: older coastal places accumulating into Madras and Chennai, gated on a six-second proof of three registered states.

Full-scene generation failed the geometry before the day was out. Two built-in candidates, one direct call that failed with no receipt and an unknown cost, and one comparison through a second route all drifted the coast, the river mouths and the object scale. The rule that came out of it is now Rule 2 of the project: code owns placement, generated pixels supply appearance only. That was earned, not designed.

The three-state proof was assembled from code-controlled masks and reused pixels, spending nothing new. I rejected it the same evening. It looked like a basic map or a blueprint.

So the frame changed. A 16:9 tactile coastal miniature, LOOK001, built from two component calls for a few cents with zero retries. Readable buildings, figures, palms, water, soft morning shadows. Not geographically registered, and said so in its own record. Confirmed spend by the end of the day: well under a dollar, plus the one failed call nobody can price.
